US military in Ecuador - March 2026
Supporting foreign militaries fighting bad guys is not really different than what was done before. But now with a totally different vibe. And that matters for the Trump admin.
US Special Forces are in Ecuador and participating in joint operations against “designated terrorist organizations.”
It’s not clear if the US troops on the ground are engaging in fighting or just advising. My guess (not confirmed) is that they are advising, but are almost certainly armed and have been authorized to use force if they are near a firefight …
