Mexico - Gender violence in Nuevo León

Nuevo León remains one of the most violent states in Mexico for women and girls.

Earlier this year, we covered the high profile disappearance and murder of 18-year-old Debhani Escobar in the outskirts of Monterrey, Nuevo León. Escobar was missing for almost two weeks in April when investigators found her body on the grounds of a motel near where she was last seen.
