The Clan del Golfo demonstrates its capabilities and resilience in response to a leadership shake-up.
Last week, the Clan del Golfo launched a multi-day paro armado in response to the extradition of its leader, Dairo Antonio Úsuga, alias Otoniel. There were public acts of violence in over 100 municipalities extending across 11 of Colombia’s 32 departments. Montería, a city with a half million people, was largely shut down for several days.
