Homicides are up in spite of coronavirus quarantines
Homicides are up compared to 2019
In Brazil, homicides were up 7% in the first five months of 2020 compared to the same time period as last year. While May 2020 was almost the exact same as May 2019, the country experienced large and unseasonal spikes in homicides in February, March and April.
